Evelyn Washington Obituary

Mrs. Evelyn Weston Washington was born January 2, 1941, in Eastover, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Beauregard and Elizabeth Bynum Weston. She entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Evelyn was educated in the public schools of Lower Richland County and graduated from Hopkins High School. She continued her education and received her certification in nursing.
Mrs. Washington was a longtime, and devoted member of Daughter of Zion Baptist Church in Eastover, South Carolina.
Evelyn was well known for being a mother figure to all whom she encountered, including her grandchildren and many others in the community. She was a great listener and storyteller, which made her the family historian. She could tell you about the entire Weston bloodline, by memory. She enjoyed being outside tending to her plants and flowers. Before her health declined, she loved playing bid whist with family and friends. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard George Washington; sons, Calvin, and Jackie Weston; brothers, Nathaniel, Frank, and Willie Weston; sisters, Stella Weston and Ethel Weston Hampton.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories are her three loving daughters, Cleopatra V. Weston, Pamela D. Weston, both of Columbia, SC; and Christine W. Joseph of Lugoff, SC; five sons, Anthony T. (Lorraine) Weston, Reginald L. Weston, Willie J. Weston,Kenneth D. Washington, all of Columbia, SC, and Leonard C. (Tonya) Weston of Summerville, SC; her sister, Charlotte W. West of Gadsen, SC; sixteen (16) grandchildren; ten (10) great-grandchildren; a host of loving nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friend, all of whom will dearly miss her.
