Edith Siniard Obituary

My mother, Edith W. Siniard, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 102. She was born on January 3, 1923, in Brevard, North Carolina. She was one of three children of Bob Wright and Donnie Mae Wright. She graduated from Brevard High School where she met her husband, Charles Jerome Siniard. Although they went to school together, they did not start dating until Charles returned from serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Edith married Charles Jerome Siniard on January 28, 1951. They were married for over 72 years. Edith and Charles had one son, Steven Michael Siniard. The surviving members of her family include her son Steven and daughter-in-law Barbara of Kingstree, South Carolina, and a step-granddaughter Erika Mooney Patterson of York, South Carolina. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Thelma Siniard of Brevard, North Carolina, a brother-in-law Terry Cain of Brevard, North Carolina, and a niece, Kathy Davis of Defiance, Ohio. Her family includes several cousins. After graduating high school, Edith worked in a department store in Brevard before working at a local paper factory. Following a move to Columbia, South Carolina, she worked for Belk department store in gift wrapping. After retiring from Belk, she enjoyed baking and gardening. Edith was a long-time member of Cayce United Methodist Church. She was active in many women's organizations in the church. The family requests any memorials for Edith to be made to Cayce United Methodist Church.
