Charles Wood Obituary
Mr. Wood Transitioned into eternity Friday, April 11, 2025. Charles was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering faith, Charles touched the lives of many though his kindness and unwavering dedication to others.
A true people person he found joy in every conversation and made everyone feel like family. He had a passion for golf and sports he enjoyed both for the game and the friendship it nurtured. His love for sports extended across all genres- he was just as excited about a basketball game as he was about a track meet or a football Sunday.
Charles was a faithful servant as a deacon at his church in Michigan. Worship was central to his life, and he found strength and purpose in lifting others up though his faith.
A proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Charles upheld the values of manhood, scholarship, perseverance.
Charles life was a beautiful example of love in action. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of joy, compassion, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025, 12:00 noon at Sutton Branch Church, 420 Sutton Branch Road, Lugoff, South Carolina 29078. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will conduct their Omega Service at 5:00 p.m.

I, too, remember Chet from high school. He always had a great light and spirit about him. It seems he was that same person throughout his life. Prayers and blessings to the family. He is in a better place now.

Praying fervently for your family during this time of your loss. It is sorrowful enough when God calls someone home and it is expected however when our loved one leaves unexpectedly it tears our heart apart. Take solace in knowing that Chet is with our Savior fellowshipping with Him. May God bless your family and send His comforting angels to all that knew and loved Chet.

My sincere condolences to Chet´s family & love ones. I had the privilege of meeting Chet through my husband, a fellow golf fanatic who tee´d it up with Chet. Chet was always a bright & warm spirit to be around. We saw Chet last summer when visiting Detroit & that joyful visit will be a cherished memory.
