Carolyn Kirby Obituary

Carolyn M. Kirby of Columbia, South Carolina passed away August 7, 2025 at Lexington Medical Center following a brief fight with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born in Dillon, SC on December 17, 1944. Among her loves were the arts, travel, food, gardening, and always helping those in need. More than anything she loved her friends and family, and she will always be missed. She is survived by her three children, David, Leon, and Beverly; as well as her granddaughter, Sterling, who brought her so much joy. Finally, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Sergeant Major (Retired) Charles C Kirby, Jr. Theirs is a marriage of best friends. She fell in love with Columbia and quickly became a member of St. Martins-in-the-Fields Episcopalian Church, 5220 Clemson Avenue, Columbia, SC 29206 Funeral services will be held at the church on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow in the church hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Rottweiler Hearts Rescue https://rottweilerheartsrescue.org/donate/
