Carla Bennett Obituary

Carla Sofia Bennett was born in Lima Peru on February 24, 1977. Her family came to the United States when she was three years old. She was 48 at the time of her death. Her husband said she was literally the bravest human being he had ever known. She feared nothing. Carla is survived by both her parents, Luis A. Tirado and Rosa E. Tirado; her siblings, Graciela Orozco and Luis "Louie" Tirado; her brother-in-law Mauricio Orozco, her husband David Bennett; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in South Carolina, Florida, Peru, and Brazil. She loved all marine life, especially sea turtles. She also loved Chihuahuas. She was beloved and admired by practically everyone who knew her, including those who had just met her for the first time. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, active in both Spanish and English congregations. She participated in the full-time evangelizing ministry in 2011 and 2012. No matter how bad her health conditions got, she preserved her dignity and strength to the very end. Ever a champion for the downtrodden, she will be dreadfully missed by us all. Su esposo dijo que ella era literalmente el ser humano más valiente que había conocido. No le temía a nada. A Carla le sobreviven sus padres, Luis A. Tirado y Rosa E. Tirado; sus hermanos, Graciela Orozco y Luis "Louie" Tirado; su cuñado Mauricio Orozco, su esposo David Bennett; y muchas tías, tíos y primos en Carolina del Sur, Florida, Perú y Brasil. Amaba toda la vida marina, especialmente las tortugas marinas. También amaba a los chihuahuas. Era querida y admirada por prácticamente todos los que la conocían, incluyendo aquellos que la acababan de conocer por primera vez. Era testigo de Jehová, activa en las congregaciones hispanas e inglesas. Participó en el ministerio de evangelización a tiempo completo en 2011 y 2012. A pesar del mal estado de salud, conservó su dignidad y fuerza hasta el final. Siempre defensora de los oprimidos, todos la extrañaremos profundamente.
