Billy Woodward Obituary

MSG Billy R. Woodward, 74, of Columbia, SC, passed away on August 11, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. He was born in Woodruff, SC on January 9, 1951, to Thelma and John Carol Woodward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Roberta Rhodes Woodward, his former wife and mother of his three daughters. He was also preceded in death by his son, William, and his brother Freddie. Billy proudly served in the U.S. Army for over twenty-two years of honorable service. He is survived by his daughters, Tamela Squires (Troy) of Pawnee, IL, Kerri Woodward of Chatham, IL and Melissa Calloway (Ryan) of Gerard IL, his sisters, Sandra Woodward Deen of Myrtle Beach and Heather Manis (Steve) of Batavia, OH, four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful for Robert Lawson and his family, whose steadfast friendship and love meant so much to Billy. Cremation rites were accorded by the South Carolina Cremation Society. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at noon, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29229.
