Betty Mubarak Obituary

Mrs. Betty "Lynn" Loadholt Mubarak, 66, of Lexington, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center. Born September 16, 1958 in Bamberg County Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Louis Legarè Loadholt and Betty Jean Benton Loadholt Hiers. She was married to Carl S. Mubarak for nearly 42 years. Lynn graduated from Jefferson Davis Academy of Blackville, South Carolina in 1977. She was a graduate of the Radiologic Technology Program from Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina in 1980. Lynn was a devoted Radiologic Technologist of 44 years at Prisma Health (formerly Richland Memorial Hospital, formerly Baptist Hospital of Columbia). Lynn was a passionate mammographer and greatly enjoyed the bond with her patients that she established throughout her career. Lynn was a very loving wife, step-mother, daughter and aunt who dearly loved her family and her friends. She greatly enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles with her husband, flew with Carl on his first airplane solo flight, and helped build the several businesses they both ran. Lynn and Carl loved spending time together. Rarely would you find them apart. Lynn and Carl's first date was at a Christmas party encounter pre-arranged by Carl's sister, Lydia. They have never been apart since that night. Carl has always said that Lynn was "the love of his life". They loved their poodles and cat. Lynn enjoyed attending concerts with her friends, and spending time with her work family. Lynn was a proud Clemson Tiger fan. Surviving are: her husband Carl Mubarak of Lexington; one twin step-son Jason Mubarak of Lexington, and other twin step-son Chris Mubarak; sister, Janet Loadholt Parker (Glenn) of Aiken, step sisters Gail Hiers O'Gorman of Columbia, Olivia Hiers Padgett of Edisto Island; step brother, Landis Hiers (Tiny) of Ehrhardt; her granddaughters Bella Grace and Collins Mubarak, and other grandchildren of Chris (Natalie) Mubarak of Atlanta; Cannon, Baylor, Peyton and Larkin Mubarak; her nieces and nephews, Galen Parker (Alyson) of North Augusta, Bailey Parker Klein (Matthew) of Evans Georgia, Natalie Hames of Columbia, McKenzie Hames of Denver, Colorado; and her great nieces Logan Parker and Merritt Klein: her sister in law Lydia Hames (Barry) whom she loved so dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Legarè Loadholt and Betty Jean Benton Loadholt Hiers and her stepfather Landis Wendell Hiers. Even in Lynn's final act of love, the donation of her eyes will enable two people to regain their sight. With sincere gratitude, the family would like to thank all of her dear friends and family for their constant love and support throughout her illness. The family would also like to sincerely thank the numerous caring parishioners of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church for their overwhelming support and prayers. Memorials may be sent to Our Lady of The Hills Catholic Church. Funeral services and mass with Father Edward Fitzgerald will be held at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon, September 19, 2025 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church in Columbia, South Carolina. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Friday afternoon following 2 pm mass.
