Bertha Shaw Obituary

Ms. Bertha Ann Shaw "Ann", 79, of Columbia, entered into eternal rest October 15th, 2025. Ann was born on September 16, 1946, in Columbia, SC. She was a daughter of the late Harold Coleman Shaw and Bertha P. Shaw. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion not only for the human lives she touched, but countless dogs and cats, as well. In her younger days, Ann enjoyed dining out with friends and family. She was a graduate of Eau Claire High School. She was a loving sister and friend who enjoyed keeping in touch with many friends with whom she had for 40+ years. She was head of the EKG/EEG department at the state hospital and taught EKG at Midlands Technical College. She was also president of the South Carolina chapter of EKG for certified and registered technicians. Ann will be remembered fondly by all, but particularly by her sister Margaret Lynn Furman, and beloved friend Sally McMillan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Harold Clyde Shaw, brother in-law Mike Furman, and beloved friend, Rusty Downs. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Ann Shaw may be made to an animal shelter/rescue of your choice.
