Awilda Jimenez Obituary

Awilda Jiménez, a beloved sister and aunt, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday afternoon at her shared home in South Carolina.
Born in 1953 in Manhattan, New York City, Awilda was the daughter of Baldomero Jiménez and Arcelia Roman Ruiz. She grew up alongside her sisters, Miriam, Carmen, and Evelyn.
Throughout her life, Awilda made her home in several locations, including New York City, Puerto Rico, and South Carolina. Known for her quick wit and love of socializing, Awilda had a special talent for making everyone around her feel at ease. She was often seen chatting with neighbors while walking her dogs, and it seemed she knew everyone in the neighborhood.
Awilda was known for her spiritual nature, influenced by her upbringing in the Catholic Church. Her faith and spirituality remained central to her life, and she touched many lives with her encouraging words and love. Awilda maintained strong family bonds and was cherished by her relatives and friends.
Awilda is survived by her sister, Carmen Jiménez Maysonet; her brother-in-law, David Maysonet; her niece, Jessica; her nephew, Jason; her beloved dogs, Taíno and Indio; and numerous cousins and friends who will dearly miss her.
Awilda joins her departed parents, Baldomero Jiménez and Arcelia Roman Ruiz, and her two sisters, Miriam and Evelyn, in eternal peace.
Following her wishes, Awilda was cremated and will be interred with her sister Evelyn in Queens, New York.
