Alicia Javis Obituary

We, the family of Alicia Bonne Sanders Javis, extend our heartfelt gratitude for the many acts of kindness, love, and support shown during this time. May God bless each of you for being a blessing to our family. The family respectfully requests that all guests wear shades of blue to the service and limit the use of black, if possible.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations of nonperishable food items in support of the Reformation Lutheran Church food drive. Contributions may be made during the service, at the repass, or at the family home. It is our earnest intention to honor Alicia's legacy through continued service to the community.

OBITUARY: Alicia Bonne Sanders Javis was born on June 2, 1960, and transitioned peacefully on December 4, 2025, at the age of 65 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Alicia was educated in the public schools of Lexington–Richland School District Five and graduated from Irmo High School, Class of 1978. She was known for her strong faith, deep love for her community, and her wonderful sense of humor. Alicia touched the lives of many through her work and through her heart for service at Pleasant Spring AME, Christ Mission and Reformation Lutheran Church.
Hard-working and dedicated, Alicia began her career with NCR after earning her Associate's Degree from Midlands Technical College. Shortly thereafter, inspired by her father's example, she chose to serve her country and joined the Army National Guard.

In addition to her military service, Alicia used her gifts in numerous roles throughout the community, including positions with Zorba's Greek Restaurant, FedEx, Husqvarna, Serve and Connect, Door Homes, Richland County Meals on Wheels, and Breezy's Seafood Market where countless people were greeted by her warm smile and welcoming spirit. Her dedication and work ethic will be remembered by all who knew her.

Alicia was a loving mother and grandmother who treasured time spent with both her family and her community. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rosa Lee Dreher and Berlin Sanders. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Keshia Javis-Jones (Jennelle) and Alivia Binyard; her grandchildren, Elijah Toro, Janyasia Nelson, Leshon Nelson, Termaine Lemon Jr., and Landon Jones; and her loving significant other of 14 years, Louis Hunter. She also leaves in loving remembrance Louis's children, Stacey Dennis and Demetrius Dennis (Meenah), along with their beautiful children. Alicia is further remembered with love by her special cousins, who treated her more like a sister: Charlene Washington (Jimmy), Steve Sanders, Bruce Wise Sr., Stanley Wise (Carolyn), Charles Sanders (Joyce), Donna Willis (Godfrey), Harold Dreher (Annie), and Keith Dailey (Edith); along with a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss her
profoundly.

Immediately following the service, please join the family for a repass at Eight Sixty Station, located at 544 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.
