Ruby Lee Harris Obituary

College Station, TX - Ruby Lee Harris, 87, died on June 23, 2013 in College Station, Texas, with her family by her side. A memorial service celebrating her life was held Saturday, July 27, 2013, at The First United Methodist Church in Arp, Texas. Mother was born January 2, 1926 in Calhoun County, Alabama to he late James and Rosa Lee Champion. She moved to Anniston, where she met and married her husband, the late James O. Harris, who was stationed at Fort McClellan during World War II. They moved to Texas for life that spanned college, career, children, and service to God on two continents. They returned to Anniston upon his retirement. Ruby Lee was a true southern belle a faithful wife, loving mother and committed woman of God. She was a faithful member of St. Michaels and all Angels Episcopal Church in Anniston. She is survived by her children; a surviving sister; one brother; three sisters-in-law, and numerous grand and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mother's enduring legacy is that she loved God and she loved her children. She taught them to love God. We have peace at her passing and hope the reader will also find the peace that comes from being so well loved by the God who first loved us.
