I hope I make you proud dad, even though you're no longer here,
Your memory grows stronger, with every passing year,
At the end it was a battle, one you weren't to win,
A fight against a demon, no choice but to give in,
I wish I could've said goodbye, that morning when you left,
Told you you were my hero, and that you were the best,
Tears I cry in secret, at night before I sleep,
Wishing you were beside me, you'd be forever here to keep,
The years don't make it easier, they said the pain would go,
It seems I've just got better, not letting my feelings show,
Wishing I could hold your hand, to shout your name aloud,
You're no longer here dad, but I hope I make you proud.

7 years today missed dearly always
your daughter

Dad
He never looks for praises
He's never one to boast
He just goes on quietly working
For those he loves the most
His dreams are seldom spoken
His wants are very few
And most of the time his worries
Will go unspoken too
He's there.... A firm foundation
Through all our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold to
In times of stress and strife
A true friend we can turn to
When times are good or bad
One of our greatest blessings,
The man that we call Dad.

Missed dearly,love your daughter,

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,

The joy of a morning in Spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it … Dad

I Love and Miss you so very much my dear sweet daddy your daughter

To Daddy, who meant so much to us. On your birthday, June 17, we loved to make a fuss. No words could ever say how much we love and respect you. But we'll do our best now with words too few. You were always there to teach us,even when we wouldn't listen. Who did we run to then, when the tears would start to glisten? Picture four little girls, out the door we would go, to ride bikes, pick flowers and berries, skin our knees too you know! At Christmas, special presents under the tree, our stockings filled with candy, coins, and tangerines sweet.Your kindness and generosity were second to none. Each of us felt that we were number one! So many lessons we learned from your life,(some of the credit belongs to Mom, your wife). Yes, different in so many ways, but loving each other most all of your days. Our loving tears are no surprise, your faith inspiration in all of our lives. We're thankful for your love,so the memories and laughter will last a lifetime. We feel we're the luckiest women in the world, for the best Daddy four little girls could have. Love,Jeanne, Cindy, Kim and Barbara(and Mandy makes 5)

In loving memory of a Good Man.A wonderful husband,a great Dad,the best grandpa with the sweetest ...(and sometimes silly smile)...Always a dedicated and giving friend and good neighbor ready with a helping hand.He loved his brothers in Charleston City P.D. You know who you are. Today, as in every day you are missed oh-so-very much by all of us. Perhaps, today we can do honor to your memory by extending a hand to a loved one or a friend in need, or giving a child a warm hug. DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIR

A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father. When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows. An empty chair sat beside his bed. The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me, he said. 'No, who are you?" said the father. The minister told him his name and then remarked, "I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew
I was going to show up." "Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man.
"Would you mind closing the door?"
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this,
not even my daughter," said the man. "But all of my life I have never
known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head." I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued, "
until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter
of having a conversation with Jesus.
Here is what I suggest. "Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because he promised, 'I will be with you always'. "Then just speak to him in the same way you're doing with me right now." "So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day.
I'm careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the
old man to continue on the journey.
Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church. Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon. Did he die in peace?" he asked. Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek.
When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him .
But there was something strange about his death. Apparently,
just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed. What do you make of that?" The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."

We Love you Daddy....
