Wilma Clayton Obituary

CLAYTON, Wilma DORCHESTER - Wilma Loretta Jones Clayton, 79, widow of James Wilson Clayton, died Friday July 18, 2008 at the Medical University of South Carolina after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Salem United Methodist Church with the Reverend Robert Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Dorchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Fisk, Allen Guerry, Tommy Guerry, Ray Clayton, Ronnie Clayton, and Phillip Nunnally. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George. Wilma was born on August 26, 1928 in Knoxville, Tennessee a daughter of the late Frank Reed Jones and Zelda Melissa Albury Jones. She attended North Charleston High School and was a clerk with Clayton Grocery. She attended Salem United Methodist Church. Surviving is a son, Jimmy (Donna) Clayton and a daughter, Sue Clayton Whiten, all of Dorchester; a brother, Cecil Bud (Teal) Jones, Buffalo, TX; two sisters, Mary J. (Leonard) Fisk, Dorchester and Wanda T. Guerry, Macedonia; grandchildren, Melissa Renee Clayton, Eutawville, Karen Rose (Russ) Morris, Holly Elizabeth Clayton, Matthew Pike Whiten and Christopher Wilson Whiten all of Dorchester and a great-grandchild, Mackenzie James Morris.
