Not sure what to say?

July 24, 2009

Sister B.J. first let me say that meeting you and Bro. Joe has enriched the lives of my family. You have shown true love and Christian fellowship from day one. Bro. Joe's love for you was a wonder to watch. It truly gives new meaning to the old saying about watching a Christian's daily walk. Not everyone gets to have the type of blessed relationship the two of you shared. I thank God everyday for letting me and my family share time with you'll.
To Brian, Gail, the brothers and sisters, grand-children, and the in-laws - I know you have wonderful memories of Bro. Joe and that they will substain you in the coming hard times. Brian and Gail you had a wonderful father. Thank you for sharing this wonderful man with the rest of us for the short time we knew him. He will always be in our hearts and will be remembered each time we sit in church we will "see" him there.

Dear Mom & Papa Joe,

Words can not express our grief at the loss we all feel. We will all miss that sly smile and the way Papa Joe could roll his eyes the way no one else could. He had a loving way of getting his point across without hurting your feelings.
Although we only had you a short time, we all feel blessed. It doesn't matter the quantity of time you have, but the quality. Some people are together a lifetime and never realize the jewel they have.
Mom, we are sorry you only had 5 years together, but your love will last a lifetime.

All My Love,
Sherry

Nanny, I am so glad that you had such a wonderful man in your life. We will all miss Papa Joe very much. Although your time with him was cut short, Im sure if you two had been married for 100 years Papa Joe couldn't love you any more than the first day he saw you. As he always said "The first time I saw her, I knew she was the one for me!" Papa Joe touched the lives of many. He was a precious man. My family adored him and he will always live in our hearts. He really touched my family deeply and brought Dan and I even closer to the Lord. The children talk of missing him and they are worried about you being alone. But we know that after being married to one of God's angels, you can go on knowing that he is exactly where he wants to be and the love you two shared is enough to carry you through. I'm so glad that Papa Joe got to be a part of our family. Knowing him has made a difference in our lives and we love him just as if he was always with us from the very beginning! Papa Joe was a loving, kind, adorable & whimsical man. He was full of life and full of passion for the Lord. I have no doubt he's booted out the old angel choir director in heaven and has taken over! Show em how its done Papa Joe!
We'll miss you, but we'll see you again one day.

Mr. Joe was heaven sent and the love he had for Mrs. Bj was what we all dream of everyday. They were blessed to live what everyone else only dreams of if only for a short while. He love God and live in his light so well that he made it look simple. Looking at him I know I need to get back right because i promised him I would. Mrs. Bj I love you and you are the greatest pastor of all time to me. Mr. Joe and yourself made going to church and learning the word enjoyable. I am hope to have a love as strong as you two and a life with God like you live everyday. I am sorry to see a great man like Mr. Joe go but atleast we know he is sitting and talking with the father. I love you and you two are my inspiration!!!!

Nanny,
You are such an AMAZING grandma, and a true inspiration to me and the way I want to live my life. I hope that my marriage will be as wonderful and as full of love as yours and Papa Joe's. We miss him terribly and we are very sorry that you only had such a short time together, but your marriage was enough love to have lasted 100 years! It was evident to all that saw the two of you together that you were meant for each other. I know these next few days, weeks, months and years are going to be hard and we will never be able to let go of Papa Joe, but I know that he is watching over ALL of us.
My love always,
April

Dear Aunt Betty,

I'll miss his funny expressions and his little dances the most. Our church will not be the same without him. Even though the two of you were not together but five years, he loved you with all of his heart and would do anything for you. We will all miss Uncle Joe. I love you Aunt Betty.

Aunt Betty,
Thank you for being the person that you are. Thank you for letting me get to know such an wonderful couple and helping me see that God can restore anything. Thank you for all of the love and care that you shed during your years with Uncle Joe, and the love and care you gave Uncle Joe during his time of illness. As I watched you day by day care for his daily needs, it was amazing to see the tender loving care that you showered him with. Those final days may have been hard but there are no regrets. You did every thing that a person could possibly do. Thank you for putting the smile on Uncle Joe's face. The renewed life and energy that he experinced was do to the grace of God and the Love of a Godly woman. They say behind every good man is a good woman. Well when we met you we met a good woman. Thank you for letting his dreams of working for the Lord come to life. I truly enjoyed being a part of the music ministry with the two of you. Music will never be the same again since I met you both. We will get the job done together just as Uncle Joe wanted. We will enjoy the home in Heaven that he spoke so much about this last year. Remember that you have all the help you want. Just ask and it shall be given. I love you and appreciate you.
Thanks!

Pastor B.J
What an outstanding example of a surviver in the face of adversity you have been. The smiles on Mr. Joe's face when he looked at you said it all. The love, pride, and joy the two of you shared are the things that fairy tales are made of. The two of you gave so many the hope that you could find true love again. Continue in God's love and ministry and let's keep Mr. Joe's dreams, goals, and visions alive. Remember his instructions "Don't give up." "WORKING TOGETHER TO GET THE JOB DONE."

Now get ready to meet me!
I would like to say thanks for seeing me through Jerry, Dad, and Mothers' deaths. It meant a lot to have Pop, BJ, Brian, Kim, Gail, and Davids' support during those times.

Gail and Fadar,

My heart is full of tears and laughter as I think of Uncle Joe today. He was a "Master Builder" as Dad would say. Uncle Joe and Aunt Violet built a great family as well. Stand strong for today he is with his Lord and Savior.

To the family,
Uncle Joe was always smiling & he loved everyone. I will miss him very much. I talked with someone yesterday and he said that Uncle Joe had made a big impression on his life. And I think he made an impression on a lot of people's lives. He has suffered for a long time. But now he is enjoying real freedom this July 4th. He will always live in our hearts.

Joe was also predeceaded by a awsome wife of 54 years, Violet Jones. My father in law was a great role model to his daughter, Gail and Son in law, David Crosby, and Son Brian and daughter in law, Kim Jones. And grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. To all who knew him. He also received a new Great Granddaughter 7 days before his passing. God works in Great ways. Papa you will be missed and always in our hearts. What a great example of Gods Agape LOVE!!
