Willie Givens Obituary

Praise the Lord. I just wanted to share my condolences with the family of Rev Givens. I met him at the Naval Shipyard, Charleston, SC in 1977. He was my supervisor when I was a co-op student from Wilberforce, Ohio (1977-19790. He was a very friendly and thoughtful person. He told me back in 1977 that I would be a preacher. I laughed, and told him never. I became an ordain minister in 1984. I will miss you Rev. Givens.

Dexter and family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear father. After Matthew's father passed, Rev. Givens was a special person and father figure in my son's life. My son made me laugh often when he said that whenever he and Dexter just thought of going astray, Rev. Givens' booming voice scared them right back in line.
