Willie Coleman Obituary

Willie F. Coleman, Sr. Charleston - Mr. Willie Frank Coleman, Sr. is the son of the late Claude Washington Coleman and the late Phyllis Nelson. He was born on October 6, 1931 in Florence, South Carolina. Willie was educated in the public schools of Florence County. He also obtained an AS in Accounting, and a BS in Mathematics. Willie enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for 24 years. Willie became a member of Greater Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC. Willie was united in holy wedlock to Lillie M. Coleman for 57 years. In that union, 3 sons were born. On Monday, February 8, 2021, God, in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to call him from labor to reward. His family will celebrate his life at a private Graveside Service on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Live Oak Memorial Garden. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Coleman, son, Michael D. Coleman, brother, Claude Washington, Jr., sister, Anne Coleman, grandson, Bryan C. Coleman, great-grandson, William D.J.B. Coleman. Willie leaves behind to cherish his memories sons, Willie F. Coleman, Jr (Twana) of Havelock, NC, and Ronald Isaac Coleman of Charleston, SC, sister, Bertie Moultrie of Laurel MD, sister-in-law, Earlie Mae of Effingham, SC, grandchildren, William D. Coleman of Goose Creek, SC, Jason A. Coleman (Tonya) of Hickory, NC, Sonya R. Coleman Lynch (Damion) of Cincinnati Ohio, Xavier O. Coleman (Caitlyn) of Hubert, NC, and Dove O. Coleman of Havelock, NC. Also cherishing his memories are five (5) great-grandchildren, his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing for Mr. Coleman will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Smith-McNeal Funeral Home, Inc.
