Brother Wright was an amazing man. I looked forward to every lesson when he would tutor me for calculus. Though I didn't know Brother Wright for too long, he made an impact on me and helped me expand my knowledge in mathematics and in life. My deepest condolences to family and friends of Brother Wright and all of the other lives he has touched.

Dear Uncle William,
All of your nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews are saddened by your passing. However, we know you are now with the Lord and he is most fortunately to have such a caring, wise and "yes saintly" brother by his side.
May you rest in peace. You are gone but will never be forgotten.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Brother Wright. He was not only my physics teacher, but a mentor and a friend to me and my family. I was only a chop-chop in one of his classes, but he was a humble and patient educator to many students.

My family and I knew Brother Wright very well and we all thought so highly of him and enjoyed his great company. I saw him regularly from about age 8 to 15. My uncle, Bro. (Joseph) Mark Clark was one of his good friends; I grew up thinking I had a very large group of fabulous and fun "uncles" with the Irish Christian Brothers. "May the Road Rise to meet Him..." God Bless.

Brother Wright, truly a Gentleman and a Scholar, both humble and kind; You were so much more than simply our moderator during our 4 years there, as you cared deeply for each of us. Rest In Peace from the Bishop Kearney class of '85 chess team, all of us to whom you referred to as "Ya Bum"..........You made us all better bums.

Br. Wright was a wonderful person. He was a strong pillar of our faith, a man of great knowledge, filled with humility and kindness. Br. Wright embodied decency, caring and dedication to teaching. He was one of those teachers at Bishop Kearney High School that everyone knew and talked about with admiration. His years of service spanned different generations of families. If you knew Br. Wright, you knew Bishop Kearney HS, and vice versa. He was a saint and a legend in his own time, and he would be the first to refute such praise! In my years after graduating BK, whenever I would visit the school, he was one of the teachers I definitely wanted to see and catch up with. He was that good and important to so many of us. Br. Wright was the real deal, and to know him gave you a deep sense that you were closer to God, Christ and the good things of this world. I was blessed to know him, the world was better for him, and I will miss him! God bless you, Br. Wright!

Brother Wright is one of the most inspiring people in my life. If being a kind and spiritual leader was not enough.......He brought physics to life in the classroom by setting up experiments on the desk and then standing back with his hand on his chin in wonderment asking retorical questions that inspired us to think it through with him. His style was both firm and gentle. I had so much respect for him that, when he caught me misbehaving, all he had to do was shake his head and show his disappointment and I felt awful. The next time this "chop-chop" "checks in upstairs" I'll thank the Lord for putting Brother Wright in my life.

Denis will forever hold a special place in my heart. As many have said here, a scholar and a saint (although he wouldn't want me to say that). Sending a few extra Ave's your way, my friend.

I am convinced that when his soul entered Heaven, Jesus was there to smile and say, "You have done very well, welcome."

His life on Earth may be done, but his life will live on in the thousands of students whom he taught in far more than Physics. Rest in Peace in the Glory of our Lord, my friend.

Late on a winter afternoon in 1978, Br. Wright walked into the Bishop Kearney cafeteria to find me with my arm up the candy machine past my elbow. He said, "Nothing is illegal unless you get caught" and walked away. RIP.

Brother Wright was my Physics and Homeroom Teacher in my Senior Year at Bishop Kearney H.S. in Rochester, NY. He was a learned man of great faith who truly loved his chosen ministry and the students he served. He was one of those people I encountered growing up who inspired me to always endeavor to do my best to be a better person.

Br Wright touched so many lives, including mine, at Bishop Kearney High School. I still look at the night sky and think of him when I recognize constellations. He was a kind and gentle man who knew how to draw out the best in a person. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
