William Wright Obituary

William (Willi) Brooks Wright JOHNS ISLAND - William (Willi) Brooks Wright, 64, of Johns Island, SC, died on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Folly Beach, SC, surfing with his close circle of friends, which he passionately Loves to do. Survived by his wife, Jeannie Wright of 42 years, son, Danny James Wright, and siblings, Susan Guinn, Howard and Ralph Wright and a predeceased brother, Paul G. Wright, Jr., who all grew up on Folly Beach in the fifties. Willi was born May 31, 1957 in Charleston, SC. Son of the late Paul G. Wright, Sr., and Margaret B. Wright of Folly Beach, SC. Willi worked in the construction industry, a carpenter, artist, and devoted Husband, where he and his Wife spent many wonderful years surfing together side by side. They were best friends deeply in love. Willi will be missed. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. His Service and Paddle Out will be held at a later date. Willi was a good friend and a fabulous surfer. I can remember when he won "best all around" at a surfing contest at the Pier in 1971. He will be missed at Folly!
