William Wise Obituary

William Archibald Wise, Jr. CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on the evening of October 1, 2009, William A., Wise, Jr., loving husband of Winifred "Winkie" Smith Wise for sixty-four years. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. William Archibald Wise, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Monday, October 5, 2009 at three o'clock at the graveside, in Holy Cross Cemetery. Willie was born August 19, 1918 in Charleston, SC, the son of William Archibald Wise and Virginia Wolfe Wise. He retired as a Shipfitter Supervisor, Shop #11 with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a charter member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Charleston Rifle Club and he was the first Exalted Ruler of Charleston Elks Lodge #242 at Lockwood and Bee Street location in1959. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; one son, William A. Wise, III, and his wife Kitsy; two daughters: Lucy Wise Smith and her husband Stanley and Mona Carpenter and her husband Bobby, all of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren: Amy Wise Taylor and her husband Jeff, Kelly Wise and his wife Samantha, Kristin Smith and Catlin Smith; five great grandchildren: Bryce Taylor, Zach Taylor, Mabry Wise, Hollyn Wise and Jordan Smith.
