First I would like to send my condolences to all of Billy's family. I had the pleasure of working with Billy in several venues in the Charleston, Walterboro & surrounding area. He was an extremely talented guitarist but most of all I found him to be an humble man who loved joking & life.
He really enjoyed performing. He could hear a song once & have it down.
I am glad that I had the chance to meet & work with him in this life time. So to his family take refuge in the knowledge that he is now in transition from life to life.

Billy is one of the most humblest friend i have ever known. I had the priveledge of playing with him on stages around charleston for almost two years. He is one of the best guitarists that i have personally known and the most ego-less musician I have ever known.Rest in peace Billy.your friend Roddy Akers

One of my best friends in the whole world. Treated me like a brother both onstage and off. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He loved a good joke, and he could play a mean guitar, and he would even show me things on guitar if I asked him. Most other musicians wouldn't take the time.
It was a real pleasure having shared the stage with Billy on many occasion and for that I will always be greatful.
Billy and I even performed on a DVD for the Preservation of Zydaco Music and the DVD was entered into the Smithsonian Institution in 2002. So his memory will live on forever. C.L. Oliver, JR McLeod, Linda Johnson, Captain James Kirk, Richard Hippy, Leon Meyers, Bert Flyod, Charles, Cleve and Steve Wiggins, Pnut, Nanette,Wyman Chavis, Little Ceasar and numerous other talented musicians who have played with Billy over the years will certainly miss him. Our hats are off to you.
