I remember well Bill Wier when I worked at First (Scots) for 13 years. He was an amazing man, Christian, and very active member there.

I worked at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church for 13 years and knew Bill and Jean Wier, both a solid foundation at the church and in the community and a blessing to all who worked with them while serving our Lord. A fond memory for me is the Christmas Bill treated the staff of First (Scots) to lunch at the Yacht Club. Always a gentleman, he will be remembered for serving with dignity and dedication in all he did. You will be sorely missed, Bill, but as fellow Believers, we know we will one day meet again. My heartfelt prayers and sympathy to Jean. Having gone through this loss myself four years ago, remember to keep your eyes on our Lord and He WILL walk beside you every step of the way. Don't hesitate to cry out to Him at "those" times. He will enfold you in His loving embrace. I promise.

We lost a true gentleman. My deepest sympathy to you and your family during this time of bereavement. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the funeral as I will be traveling. I gave a small memorial in his name to First Presbyterian Church at 53 Meeting Street.
