William Watts Obituary

William A. "Bill" Watts MONCKS CORNER - William A. Watts, 89, of Moncks Corner, S.C., died on September 5, 2013, at a North Charleston hospital. Bill was born in Cordesville, S.C. on March 12, 1924, the son of Daisy Anderson Watts and Walter J. Watts. He was first married to the late Ruth Roberts Watts and widower of Dorothy Womack Watts. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School, had the oldest membership in the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, beginning in 1935 to present and was a member of the Guilds-Scott Bible Class. Mr. Watts was retired Berkeley County Auditor, had been on Moncks Corner Town Council, a charter member of Carolina Low Country Chapter of American Red Cross, Former Chairman of the Berkeley Dorchester Economic Corp. Bill was a member of Moncks Corner Lions Club, a life member of Berkeley Lodge 269, Scottish Rite, Omar Shrine Temple, Berkeley Shrine Club and Eastern Star Berkeley Chapter 112. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved sports. He helped organize the Dixie Youth Baseball League in Moncks Corner. Survivors include; a daughter, Mildred I. (Mikky) Watts Caison and her husband, Bobby, of Moncks Corner: two grandchildren; Heather C. Gilbert and her husband Britt of Daniel Island, and Robert L. Caison Jr. of Moncks Corner;three great grandchildren, Evan Anderson Gilbert, Elle Dennis Gilbert, and Jaxson Slade Caison. The funeral service for Mr. Watts will be held on Sunday, September 8, at 4:00 PM in the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Biggin Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 PM. Directed by Russell Funeral Chapel of Moncks Corner. Memorials may be made to the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, 200 North Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
