Dear Miss Nancy, Bill(Jr.) and family - My condolences to you. Bill Tolson was the cop's cop, an old-school officer with street smarts and a personality to deal with every situation. There are so many stories that involve Bill, in the deep voice of his, saying "Now let me tell you one ----- thing... !" From then on, the scene was his. If you played it straight with Bill, he treated you straight. That wasn't always the case on my side of the professional line with every one, but it was with Bill. Speaking of that deep voice, I didn't have to hear his number to know who it was on the radio! Bill, you'll be missed, but I hope we meet again on the Other Side. Rest, my friend.

The Tolson Family,
My sincere condolences to the entire family. Bill was my training officer in the early 80s, which laid the groundwork to my long career. While speaking to a friend Saturday about Bill's death, we ended up sharing funny stories about him, which is the way he will be remembered by his friends. He was a great street cop and friend. Rest in Peace brother Bill.

Bill was my friend, I can say that with pride. He was a man you could depend on.A good husband to Nancy, and he was a good Dad too, kept a tight grip on his kids, and look at them now, grown adults, living a good life, doing their share.
Bill was a awesome fisherman, I can remember many times of us, and "little Bill" ,fishing at Goose Creek reservoir. We always caught our limit, sometimes a few extra..lol.
Bill is very special to me, as he is the police officer that caught the guy that killed my son Chris,in a drunk driving accident May 6,1989. Maybe Bill and Chris are together in heaven, fishing, and catching the limit.
Rest in peace my dear friend, as you have definitely earned it.
When it's my turn I plan on seeing you, Chris, and many of my past friends. Until then, we will miss you, but never forget you my friend.
