He was born on October 18, 1933 to Palma and Clyde Silver in Heath Springs, SC. Being the son of a railroad family, he lived in many places growing up. In the early sixties, he opened Silver-Winn Supply Company in North Charleston, eventually moving the business to Goose Creek in 1967, where he retired in 1992. His love for his wife and family made him passionate about everything he did. He was an avid fast pitch softball player until his children began playing sports. He took on the role of coach and mentor, teaching children life lessons on the sports fields on Playground Road at St. Andrews Parks and Playgrounds. In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, Wilma Johnson Silver, he is survived by daughter, Terri Lynn Silver (Larry); sons, William H.
