William Shipman Obituary

William Creighton Shipman MT. PLEASANT - William Creighton Shipman, 19, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest with his family by his side on Sunday, July 17, 2016 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on Wednesday, January 1, 1997 in Mount Pleasant, SC to Nanci Steadman Shipman and Lee Shipman. Creighton loved his family. His heart was lacrosse, he truly loved playing and introducing the sport to all of the young players. He played at Wando High School as well as Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, NC. He chose to play at Mars Hill because he found his peace in the mountains. He will be remembered for his goofy smile, his bright eyes and his enormous heart. He was so loved and he loved so well. He is survived by his loving parents, Nanci Steadman Shipman, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Lee Shipman, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Sister, Elizabeth Wheaton Shipman, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Brothers, Jackson Lee Shipman and Hollice Milles Shipman, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Aunts, Jacki Powers (Brian), of Charleston, SC and Jennifer Harris (Jimmy), of Washington, NC; Grandparents, Cheryl "Nonni" and Bill "Poppi" Steadman, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Bryan Shipman, of Washington, NC; cousins, Mac, Emmie, Ragan, and Ashley; and many loving friends and family. Creighton was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Pat Shipman of Washington, NC. All are invited to a Community Vigil Service at 7:00 pm, Friday, July 22, 2016 at Saint Andrew Church Ministry Center, 440 Whilden Street, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, with Father H. Gregory West, Pastor of Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church on Daniel Island, presiding. Creighton was a part of the family and attended Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church.
