William Robinson Obituary

William James Robinson Summerville - William "Robbie" James Robinson, Jr., 82, of Summerville, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Friday, March 29, 2019 at his home with his daughter Tina Marie and son-in-law William Bruce Hickman. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 6th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Northwoods Chapel. Robbie was born November 4, 1936 in Fairmount, Georgia, son of the late William James Robinson and Katherine Morrall Robinson. During his lifetime, he was a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy as a Torpedoman's Mate First Class. In his civilian occupations he was an Ordinance and Marine Mechanic. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He loved playing poker with his VFW buddies, playing bingo, fishing. He was an avid reader of war and westerns, and was very proud of his apple tree. He is survived by: two daughters: Tina Marie and her husband, Bruce Hickman; Linda Flanigan; son, John Robinson; five grandchildren: William "Bradley" Hickman, Scott Michael Stubblefield, Sharon Weston, Seth and Cody Robinson; two great-grandchildren; and his companion, Pansy H. Lynes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth B. Robinson, daughter Patricia Robinson, his parents, two brothers: Earl and Grover Dinsmore; and five sisters: Agnes Parm, Edith White, Gwendola Goble, Lucille Hix and Mae Wehunt. Flowers will be accepted or a donation may be made in his name to Midway Baptist Church, 506 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC, 29445. To the Robinson Family,

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Robbie's passing. We grieve with you on the death of your loved one and our shipmate. The SUBVETS will have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Robbie, who earned his 'fish' when he qualified on submarines, will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot. BRAVO ZULU SHIPMATE!!
