William Thomas Pierce Mt. Pleasant - William Thomas Pierce, 93, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Marie C. Pierce died Wednesday, June 13, 2018. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held at his home at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. William was born January 16, 1925 in Long Island, New York, son of the late Matthew Pierce and the late Margaret Gibbons Pierce. He served in the 6th Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. William retired as a vice president of sales and marketing in the steamship container industry. He was a Catholic by faith. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marie; five children, Christine Rufino and her husband Dennis of Naples, FL, Margaret Wolfrom and her husband Kenneth of Dunnellon, FL, William T. Pierce, Jr. and his wife Delores of Westwood, NJ, Wayne R. Cromley of Chapin, SC and Martin Pierce and his wife Janelle of Honolulu, HI; one grandson, Robert Nolan and two granddaughters, Tori Marie Cromley and Dana Elizabeth Cromley; one brother, John Pierce and his wife Terry of Long Island, NY and one sister, Regina Titus of Wilmington, DE.
