William Niemeyer Summerville - William Gregory Niemeyer, 67, of Summerville, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Visitation for family and friends is Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 11 to 1 pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home in Summerville. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm at the James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. William was born on February 4, 1955 in Lengenbury, Germany, son of the late John and Carol Niemeyer. He served in the Navy Reserve and was a Captain in the Merchant Marines. He was a beloved father and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his sons, Andrew and Daniel Niemeyer, and his brother, George Niemeyer. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www.jamesadyal.com. Willie was a great man and a fantastic storyteller. I will never forget some of the stories he would tell me about his time out at sea. Willie, you are and will remain missed.

My husband, Mike, and I have been next door neighbors to Willie in West Ashley for the past 10 years. He was well known in our small neighborhood for being very friendly, kind and always cheerful. No one was a stranger to Willie. He will be missed. May God Bless.

My son and I Joey loved seeing Willie whenever he decided to pop in. I can't begin to express what he meant to us, but especially to my son. He and Willie just seemed to be of the same spirit. We both considered him a very special friend. And my heart goes out to all who knows what it meant to have him as a friend. For me personally, what the lord has shown me about people like Willie, is that we don't always fully understand what people like him adds to Our life until you see the pain in the eyes of the people around you that loved him.
Willie, you will be truly missed. I love you brother.
