Erin, Bret, Tara and families,
Upon hearing about your father's death, I couldn't help thinking that my dad - Tony Kelley - finally has a sailing buddy that knows the same Irish stories and some of the same crazy adventures they shared aboard the Redhead and other sailboats.
The trip across the Atlantic in Ruben Windmiller's boat, where they had a small fire in the clothes dryer. They started running low on gas, so they traded a salami for some gas from some cargo ship they came across.
When the tiller broke in the middle of their cruise to Bermuda. To fix it, they used duct tape until they got there.
On many of the Columbus Day Cruise's each year.
On a trip with my mother Janet along, where he kept saying "we're running out of water." No one knew what he was talking about until they ran aground!
Your dad was one of my father's most treasured friends. He wrote us a beautiful letter after my father had passed away suddenly, telling us how much his family had meant to him. It sounds very familiar for me to say how much your dad treasured your family.
We were out of touch for these past years, but we always remembered your dad foundly.
God Bless Bill McKee! You will be remembered and missed.

A man at the forefront & actively involved in so many local humanitarian Causes! And I learned the secret of why he had such a large fan club- He loved chocolate, wine & ice cream, on a daily basis! Who wouldn't want to be a friend of Bill McKee? We will miss your avid storytelling and your generosity to all, dear Bill. Thanks for the traveling memories....

I did not know Bill, but I've known Faye for many years. Faye loved Bill so I knew he had to be special! They were blessed to have found each other at this time in their lives.
Much love to Faye and Bill's family -

We only became aquainted with Bill in the last 10 months at Sandpiper Village, but he will be missed for a very long time. Bill shared the lunch and dinner table with my mother Louise Landry and 4 other sweet ladies. He and Faye were always so kind and thoughtful, taking others along with them as they enjoyed musical productions in town. Mom has a walker (and Bill had his scooter), yet he was more than welcoming and kind to include Mom in their outings. (A kindness which was very much appreciated) He enjoyed telling how he "Left his heart in San Francisco" referring to his heart transplant. He was so proud of his family, and loved you all dearly. He will be missed by many, and his kindnesses will always be remembered. He certainly lived life to the fullest! A heck of a good guy. Sincere sympathy from our family to yours,

Bill was one of the most interesting people I have known. He always had a great topic to talk about or a good story to tell. He was proud of his family. Most of all he had such a wonderful zest for life. You will be miss.

We are so happy our family got to spend time with Bill at Kiawah in late May. It was great seeing the special connection between our Aunt Faye and Bill. We had been looking forward to their visiting us in Phoenix in January. We will remember his smile and blue eyes.

I knew Bill through my next door neighbor, Faye Davis. I helped him organize closets and spaces in his home to clear the clutter and I think make things more presentable for a special lady he had his eye on, of course Faye. As I helped him, I became his friend and loved that he and Faye were so close. One day I was at Oak talking to Michelle and she mentioned how Bill and Faye had been so sweet together having dinner there, Bill was so interesting! He had been all over the world and loved the sea! Every time I was with him , there was an amazing story to tell me and a twinkle in his eye. He loved life and hated having to battle the way he moved at a slower pace. Yet in all that he was a glow in dating Faye and I saw so much happiness in him for her and for his family. He was so proud of Erin and how she cared for him and so proud of Brett and all his success in the restaurants and the community. I am so sad he has gone and grateful to have known such a lovely man! All my sympathies to everyone in the family and my good friend Faye.
