William Locklair Obituary

LOCKLAIR, William William Thomas Jefferson Locklair, 79, of Summerville, SC, husband of Louise Marks Locklair, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at his residence. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association / SC, 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Mr. Locklair was born August 24, 1926, in Charlotte, NC, a son of the late Jacob Earnest Locklair and Esther Mackey Locklair. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, Past Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Past Dorchester County Aeronautics Commissioner, member of the Aircraft Owner and Pilots Association, the Quiet Birdman, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Lowcountry Antique Tractor and Engine Association. He was a retired electrical contractor and owner of Locklair Electric Company. Survivors include his wife, Louise Marks Locklair of Summerville; one son, William Locklair, Jr., of Lake Lure, NC; one daughter, Susan Locklair Rahn of Summerville; three grandchildren, Erin, Justin and Stefan; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Parker.
