William Litchfield Obituary

William Litchfield MT PLEASANT - William (Bill) Everett Litchfield, 52, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023, in Joshua Tree, CA, surrounded by his family. Born on July 27, 1971, Bill was a devoted father, husband and friend who brought so much light and laughter to life. He was up for anything, down for everything and embarrassed by nothing. He was a dedicated father and role model to Zachary, Mikayla and Liam. He spent countless hours at school events, in the hockey rink, on the soccer field, listening to Mikayla sing, and anything else his kids were into. He finally met his "angel" in his wife, Kristen, and made the most of their short time together at their home in Mt Pleasant and on Fripp Island with their friends and family. He was supportive of Kristen's boys, Keller and Aiden. He died while in Joshua Tree, CA, on a "most excellent adventure" that he planned with his family. He loved being on the water, riding motorcycles, and traveling. Bill grew up in Denver, CO, graduating from Englewood High School 1989. He joined the Navy shortly thereafter as a submariner and a member of the Gold Crew of the USS Daniel Boone (SSBN 629). His service to his country was distinguished and he received several commendations for his exceptional work. Following his work as a recruiter, he left the Navy in 1996 and earned an MBA from Regis University. His business acumen, combined with his military discipline, helped him overcome challenges and achieve success in the competitive world of entrepreneurship. Throughout his career, Bill had remained committed to serving his community and giving back. He had been involved in several philanthropic initiatives, including supporting veteran causes and promoting education. Bill He believed that everyone has the potential to make a positive impact on the world, and he strove to lead by example. In addition to his wife and children, Bill leaves behind his father, Bill of Denver, CO; and sister, Amy of Petaluma, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Kelly. A private burial will be held at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC, on March 1, 2024. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on March 16 at 5:00 PM at Hobcaw Yacht Club in Mt Pleasant, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's honor to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN).

Dear Family of Bill,
So sad to hear of Bill´s passing.
We lost touch many years ago, but I have many found memories from the rink.
Bill had a huge impact in mine and my youngest sons hockey life...he started it. He was a great coach, full of
encouragement and always fun! Bill was a good dude.
Warm thoughts and prayers heading your way.

Friends in high school. Pen pals during boot camp, he was in Great Lakes while I was in Orlando. Reconnected some on FB many years later. Messaged a little more in the last year or so after his diagnosis. Cancer sucks. God bless you and be with you ans your family Bill.

Awwww Bill! He was a dear friend and super dad ! Bill always had me laughing, even when the joke was on me ! I was his DD for many years and had many adventures with him and his partners in crime on weekends-too many Waffle House escapades to count. A devoted father he was ! I was always amazed at how well he loved his kiddos. We miss you Billy Bob- always our rocket man! Godspeed !
