Kathy,Drew and Beaumont, although I never stayed in touch with Billy over all of these years, I also have very fond memories of our early childhood together. I will never forget my first horseback ride out at Bell Isle, that "barn-runner" scared me good and Billy laughed for an hour. Billy will be missed by all of us and God will give you peace and strength.

Kathy, Drew & Beaumont, Kathy and Drew, we have never met, but I remember Beaumont from when she was a little girl. Billy and I were best friends when we were young. We knew every inch of Belle Isle and did some serious hunting with our BB guns. I moved away from Georgetown at thirteen and I saw Billy only a few times after that...the last being Pawley's Island circa 1968. I am very sorry to hear of Billy's passing. I will always have fond memories.

Kathy, Drew, and Beaumont,
If it's true that memories bring comfort, than you all have the worlds softest down comforter to fall into for the rest of your lives! What great memories you've all made, not only with each other, but with literally hundreds of others whose own memories of Billy can only make them smile and laugh. Rest assured that we are all smiling and laughing and saying "Remember the time Billy ..."
Nordy and I, Harrison and Mary Grace are sending lots of love your way.

To the family of Bill Johnstone - I met Bill through Gruber's Hunting Preserve in St. George a few years ago. We ran into one another from time to time and it always amazed me what a memory he had, he remembered my name after having met just once. He never failed to give me a hearty greeting and was always such a fine, southern gentleman. I was so saddened to learn of his illness and kept up with his battle through Coach Gruber...and I am even more saddened to learn of his passing. The world has definitely lost a shining light, but heaven's gain is tremendous. His presence will always be felt and remembered. My prayers and thoughts are with you all now and in the many days ahead. God Bless your family...

Kathy and Drew, I didn't know Billy that well, but thru the stories from Kathy he was a wonderful, fun loving guy, loving and willing to make others smile inspite of his pain. Cancer is not something that all of us can fight but I feel that with God's help Billy was able to come thru it and the Maker gave him his deadline and he made it. He most certainly left a legacy which would be hard to fill. My vision is that Jesus carried him the rest of the way home and that's why there are only one footprints in the sand. Jesus carried him home. God Bless and you and Drew are in my prayers and thoughts as well as the rest of his friends and family.

Drew,
I am saddened by the news of your father's death. I have fond memories of meeting him at his new house before Little Al, you and me took his boat for a ride on the river and promptly ran it out of gas. I have been searching for you for nearly 8 years, and I hope you'll call me when you get a chance. 803.429.3498.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Shall we begin a memorial ping pong tourney with one of dad's causes as the beneficiary? I know we could make it a success!
Peace and love,

We met Billy, Kathy, Beaumont and Andy about 10 year ago in the Charlotte, NC airport. All of us were on the way to St. Martin. We have been friends since then and have returned to St. Martin on another visit. Billy was a stong and very friendly person to be around. He liked helping people with their problems. Kathy, we know this time is difficult - just remeber the fun times and all the people that love you and Billy.

Kathy, I will never forget talking with Bill about a friend's wife suffering from cancer and his quick response that he was willing to help in any way and his asking me to give them his phone number so he could offer help to them both. While sharing this with me, he was smiling that big smile of his, and I was the one feeling comforted at that moment. I am thinking of you today, and I know that Bill and you have touched many of us with your spirits. May God bless you at this time. Will Hodges, Christ Church.
