William Johnson Obituary

William Harold "Lucky" Johnson, 85, of St. Stephen, SC, died Saturday morning at his residence. He was born November 12, 1939, in St. Stephen, SC, son of the late Lucius Willard Johnson, Sr., and Effie Humbert Johnson. His funeral will be 3:00 PM Friday afternoon, August 15, 2025, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner, followed by interment in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Friday. Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston, 81 Gadsden St., Charleston, SC 29401, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Mr. Johnson was a dedicated self-employed mechanical engineer who contributed his expertise to several companies including Cullum Mechanical, Fluor Daniel's, ICS, and BP Amoco. He served as a project manager or foreman on numerous projects, notably hospitals in the Charleston area and the Coliseum after Hurricane Hugo. A proud US Air Force veteran, Mr. Johnson also attended the Harristown Full Gospel Holiness Church. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working on automobiles and farm equipment, reading, and watching Westerns. He cherished trips to Clearwater Beach, FL, where he loved the sand and the beach and visits with old friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Brian Johnson, and two brothers, Billy Johnson and B.C. Johnson. Surviving are his loving wife, Vivian Blackmon Johnson; his daughter, Gracie J. Antley and her husband J.B. of Moncks Corner; his sons, Dustin K. Johnson and his wife Vickie of St. Stephen, and Kirk Eiring and his wife Julie of Moncks Corner. He also leaves behind two brothers, Joseph V. Johnson of St. Stephen, and James W. Johnson of Oakley; seven grandchildren, Megan Floyd, Morgan Floyd, Brian Floyd, Emmalyn Johnson, Raelyn Johnson, Isaiah Antley, and Jake Thomas; and a great grandchild, Waylon Potter.
