William Hale Obituary

William Hale CHARLESTON - William Lodge Hale, 86, of Charleston, SC and Fryeburg, ME, died Jan. 7, 2013 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. Mr. Hale was born in Elizabeth, NJ, served his country during WWII in the Navy and returned to NJ to graduate from Drew University. In 1950, he moved with his bride, Carolyn Stevens, to North Conway, NH where he began his lifelong career in real estate and the ski industry. He is survived by daughter, Alison and husband Christopher Chapman of Brattleboro, VT, daughter Meredith Crofton and husband , Gary, of Manchester, MA, and six grandchildren. William was a truly wonderful and original person. He and his wife made an enormous impact on those who were close to them. He will be missed dearly but never forgotten. He was the very definition of a good person.
