William Giddens Obituary
William Harvey Giddens, affectionately known as Harvey, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on January 29, 1949, he was the beloved son of the late Milton L. Giddens, Sr. and Edith Louise Giddens. Harvey lived a full and joyful life, devoted to the things that mattered most: family, hard work, laughter, and the simple pleasures of the outdoors. He married the love of his life, Priscilla Giddens, for 56 wonderful years. Their marriage was a testament to love, partnership, and dedication. Harvey spent his career in the water and sewer industry as an equipment operator, a job he took great pride in. He was known for his dedication, work ethic, and always keeping a spotless truck. His coworkers respected him not only for his skill but for his sense of humor and larger-than-life personality. A proud family man, Harvey's greatest joy came from time spent with loved ones. Whether it was fishing, hunting, or cracking a joke around the table, he made every moment feel special. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and was always the life of the party. Harvey had a special love for Christmas and was known for going all out with decorations, filling his home and his neighborhood with holiday cheer year after year. His outgoing spirit and warm heart made him a friend to many and a stranger to none. He is survived by his loving son, Jason Giddens; his grandchildren: Crystal Carter (Derrick Ford), Heather Carter (Michael Kemp), Jaelyn Giddens, Miller Giddens, and Christian Miller; his great grandchildren: Kalub Graham, Michelle Kemp, Michael Kemp, Jr., and Mylah Kemp; as well as his siblings: Milton L. Giddens, Jr. (Donna), James Chester Giddens, Sr. (Marie), and Cynthia Harkreader (Jim). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Carter; his siblings: Marie White Beasley and Elizabeth Ann Guy; as well as his loving wife, Priscilla Giddens. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 11am to 12pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 12pm in the Chapel.
