William Ewasiuk Obituary

William Ewasiuk, 85, passed away Monday, April 7, 2008, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital following a brief illness.

Bill, one of four children, was born in Vegreville, Alberta, Canada, on March 2, 1923. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy, Fleet Air Arm, serving until 1946.

Following his discharge, Bill married Elaine Ewachniuk in 1948. They lived in Edmonton, Alberta, where Bill attended the University of Alberta. In 1951, they moved to Manhattan, Kan., and in 1953, to Stanford, Calif., where Bill continued his university education.

They moved to Bozeman in 1956 where Bill joined the academic staff of Montana State University. After leaving MSU, Bill undertook a number of private opportunities including TAP Consulting and Four Seasons Travel.

He was an avid golfer and was a charter member at Riverside Country Club where he was Club Champion several times. He was also a big fan of Bobcats basketball, serving as timekeeper for home games for a number of years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, in 2004; and by a sister, Hazel Rudyk, in 2005.

Bill is survived by his sisters, Alice Fedoruk and Sophie Edge of Vegreville, Alberta, Canada.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date in Vancouver, British Columbia.
