William Eggers Obituary
AGE: 83 • Toms River
William H. Eggers, age 83, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012, after a long illness. Bill was born in Elizabeth in 1928 and moved to Toms River in 1998. Bill was a police officer with the Elizabeth Police Department before retiring at the rank of sergeant. During his career, Bill received two state PBA awards and was inducted into the Honor Legion. He was awarded two Elizabeth Valor Awards in addition to numerous commendations, including awards from the Exchange Club, Lions Club and 200 Club. Bill was a Korean War Veteran having served his country in the United States Army.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Stephanie (nee Pudlak), son William and his wife Karen, son Gary and daughter Sandra Pontoriero and her husband Ignazio, his grandchildren: Kyla, Matthew, William, Erica, Julianna and Emanuel (E.J.) and his great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Ian and Liv.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6th from 4:00-8:00PM with a Blessing beginning at 7:30PM at "The Family Owned" Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to: The American Diabetes Association, The National Kidney Foundation or a Charity of your choosing.
