William Easterling Obituary

William Easterling Sr. CAMERON, SC - William Gess "Bill" Easterling, Sr., 75 of 4627 Cameron Road; Cameron, SC passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Pastor Todd Jeffcoat officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. He was born August 12, 1938 in Dorchester County; a son of the late Obadiah Easterling and the late Roseann Rathburn Easterling Crawford. Bill was a dedicated employee of 45 years for Cox Industries in Orangeburg. He was devoted to the Cox Family. Before moving to Orangeburg he worked for Tom Hodges Furniture on Cannon Street in Charleston, SC. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Evelyn "Jakie" Bair Easterling of the home; two sons, Don Easterling and his wife Paula, and Bill Easterling, Jr. and his wife Cathy, all of Cordova; one daughter, Connie Gartman of the home; two brothers, Obie Easterling of Moncks Corner and Arthur Easterling and his wife Sandra of Charleston; three sisters, Amanda Spence and husband James, and Doris Easterling, all of Goose Creek, and Jo Ann Easterling of Charleston; six grandchildren, Joey Easterling who was raised in the home of Orangeburg, Karen Goode of Florida, Victoria Jeffcoat and husband Rion of Dalzell, Matthew Easterling of New Mexico, Adam Gartman and fiance;, Peggy Ann Stillinger of Cameron, and Miranda Easterling of Cordova; six great-grandchildren, Andrew and Cameron Goode of Florida, Tavian and Tristan Jeffcoat of Dalzell, Kailee Easterling of Texas, and Paisley Ayer of Branchville. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, before the service at the funeral home. The family requests contributions be made to Journey Community Church, 2539 Old Edisto Drive, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
