William Cooper Obituary

William Alan Cooper CHARLESTON - William Alan Cooper, 81, entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 7, at his home in Charleston, SC. He was surrounded by his loving family at his passing. He is survived by his wife, Audry Cooper; son, Derrek Cooper; daughter, Stevie Cooper (John Bunton); granddaughter, Mykell; grandson, Keenan; and grandson, Fisher. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Berry (Bud) and brother, John Cooper, both of Charlotte, NC. Alan (Al) was well-known in the Charleston community and owned numerous restaurants and shag clubs throughout the 1980's and 1990's. He also worked for many years managing local car dealerships and wholesaling automobiles. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He was very passionate about his beloved Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Volunteers and passed his fierce enthusiasm for these teams on to his grandchildren, who may often be found shouting at the tv in much the same manner. He utterly adored his grandchildren, and nothing made him happier than spoiling them and seeing them blossom and grow. His witty sense of humor, his unyielding compassion for animals, and his overall zest for life will be sorely missed by all that knew him. Memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
