We were grieved to learn of Bill Boulter`s passing. He encouraged & supported so many of us fellow runners; we loved being in his company. Bill "set the bar" for us younger folk through his endurance, and athletic achievements; his generosity of spirit; his consistency; and true friendship.
Through his words and actions, Bill shared with us what fueled him: a loving family, strong faith, being a good friend; fairness; and impeccable sportsmanship.
Good looking and stately in his demeanor, Bill was a presence. If we spoke about Bill to a person who couldn´t quite place him, all we had to say was, "He´s the guy who looks like Senator Hollings"; "oh, that guy!" would be the response. And those outer good looks were so in concert with Bill´s strong interior warmth, and kind heart.
We send our condolences to Bill´s wife Lynne, and to the entire Boulter family.

I have been a member of St. Andrew's Family Life Center since 1981. I met Bill early on and over the years we always exchanged small talk. I always told him that he was my idol because he was a few years older and ran the Cooper River Bridge Run and was so active! Sorry to hear of his passing, and I just wanted the family to know that he was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Steve David

One of our longest and dearest friends. We (along with everyone else)loved Bill so much. We called him “the Senior Stud”. Truly enjoyed so many long conversations with him. Always had a smile on his face and will be missed by so many in the Charleston community and beyond. One of the best that touched so many lives.

Those of us in the running community will sadly miss Bill. He was a great inspiration to us, not just as a dedicated athlete, but as a truly kind gentleman and friend to all. We will remember him with great fondness.

I’ll sum it up about Uncle Vaughn, He was as genuine as they come. He loved family always interested in what one was doing in life loved Jesus and most of all loved to be social. Loved to camp and just hang out at the family reunions. I totally was in awe around him he always had good things to say to people never did I hear him criticize anything or anyone. He was a guy you could count on and talk to about anything. I am proud that I married into this family through his niece Staci it truly had God guiding me to be here and to meet a man like Vaughn. I was impressed with how he dedicated himself to running and basically killing it when he did. I will miss you dearly, but I have no doubt your with our Father in Heaven. God needs people just like you to help all of us become better men better husbands and better Christians. I pray for our family who are hurting to lose you in Jesus. Amen

I was very happy to know Bill at St.Andrews Family Fitness Plus and was amazed that he could run 6 miles and come workout at the gym into his 80s and how he would do pullups and encourage others to do pullups. I used to ask him how to live to 93 and he said to keep coming to the gym. He was a great guy and I will miss him.

It was my privilege to know Bill for more than 10 years at the St Andrews fitness center. He was always there as a runner and a fitness "Guru" doing pull-ups and encouraging others. I have always considered him my hero. Will miss him.
