William Allen Obituary

ALLEN, William William Morris "Bill" Allen, a retired florist, died Tuesday at his residence. He was 65. Mr. Allen was born July 27, 1941 in Columbia, SC; a son of the late William Theo Allen and Jessie Morris Allen. He was a member of Doctors Creek Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Jenny's House of Flowers and was the 1982 South Carolina Floral Designer of the Year. Before returning to Walterboro in 1975, Mr. Allen was employed with Burning, The Florist of South Carolina. Survivors include a niece, Angela Seigler of Columbia; a nephew, Bill Seigler and wife Kristi of Charleston; a grandniece, Jordan Huffman; two grandnephews, Billy Seigler and Samuel Seigler, and an aunt, Ramona Strother of Augusta, GA. He was predeceased by his companion, Eileen Montgomery. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in Doctors Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, SC. Bill was always so kind to my grandmother, who was active in the Mayfield Garden Club, and shared his love of beautiful things. Thank you, Bill, for being so wonderful to "Miss Tindy!" You will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Bill's death. He was a wonderful, caring person and very creative florist. He greatly helped me during a difficult time in my life. He will be greatly missed.
