Willa Nesbitt Obituary

Willa Mae Bright Nesbitt Adams Run, SC - Willa Mae Bright was born August 13, 1941 in Yonges Island, South Carolina. She is the biological daughter of Nancy Turner (deceased) and Julius Dent (deceased). Willa was raised by her adoptive parents - William and Florence Bright of Adams Run, South Carolina. Willa was educated in the Charleston County Public School System and graduated from Burke Hill High School. Upon completion of high school, Willa obtained her degree to teach from Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. While at Morris College, she became a member of the Xi Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Willa Mae Bright and Frank Earl Nesbitt, Jr. were united in holy matrimony. From this union they were blessed with two children: William Earl Nesbitt (Heidrun) of Germany and Shelton Nesbitt (Charleston, SC). Willa and Frank also shared their love and affection with two daughters- Afusat Nesbitt-Simpson (Derrick) of Orangeburg, SC and Gloria Enwesi (Charles) of Upper Marlboro, Md. Willa accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Because of her love for the Lord and her husband, Willa was a reflection of love, strength, and comfort. Willa knew the word of God and conducted herself with reverence in her behavior. As an educator, Willa dedicated 43 years to teaching and retired from the Illinois school system with 28 years of service. Upon retirement, Willa and Frank relocated to Palm Caost Florida where she enjoyed her hobbies - decorating and floral design. Willa's love of crafting always resulted in MAGIC. Willa is preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Bright, Julius Dent and Nancy Turner. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Frank Earl Nesbitt, Jr., children; William Earl Nesbitt (Heidrun), Shelton Nesbitt, Afusat Nesbitt-Simpson (Derrick) and Gloria Enwesi (Charles); siblings: Pinola Lawson, Marie Williams, Doreatha Dent, Gary Dent (Patricia), Anthony Dent (Sonya); aunts /uncles: Gladys Mitchell (Nathaniel), Lou-Ethel Mitchell, Leon Mitchell, Charles Mithchell, Rosa Mitchell (Leroy); brother-in-law, George Nesbitt (Teresa). Grandchildren: Leyli Sieanna Nesbitt of Germany, Jonathan and Joshua Enwesi of Maryland, and Kierra Robinson-Simpson of Georgia. She leaves behind Elder Martha Dent, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Nesbitt, goddaughter, Melissa Monroe (Andre) of Champaign, a special niece, Thea Renee Roberts of Ravenel, SC and a host of relatives and friends. The relatives and friends of Ms. Willa B Nesbitt and those of her loving Husband, and children are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service at 1pm, Monday, June 13, 2022 at Second Zion Baptist Church, 4569 Highway 174, Hollywood, SC. Interment: Beaufort National Cemetery. Viewing will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 3pm until 5pm at Walker's Mortuary "Chapel of Peace" 3407 Old Pond Road, Johns Island, SC 29455.
