Wilhelmina Moore Obituary

My thoughts and prayers are definitely with the family of Mrs. Moore. I’m convinced that meeting Mrs. Moore in Greenville SC changed my life. She was the sweetest and most humble lady ever. Full of wisdom. She was an indeed joy to work with and be around. She made my Activity Director career at Brookdale great. You’re definitely missed Mrs.Moore.

May you find comfort and peace in the memory of Mrs. Moore...... a trailblazer for justice, equality and education. Mrs. Moore had a significant impact on my education at South Carolina State University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She always cheered me on saying, "go ahead, you can do it." She worked tirelessly to ensure that every student in the Pineville, Cross, Eadytown, and St. Stephen areas went to college if they so desired. Mrs. Moore was a real servant for all of Berkeley County, the state of South Carolina, and beyond. Mrs. Moore loved, loved, loved Voorhees and it loved her back and she was a strong advocate for HBCUs. Mrs. Moore taught my children in Sunday School at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church and my children are blessed for having been in her company. Thank you family for sharing Mrs. Moore with us. Thank you Mrs. Moore for a life well lived.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this most difficult time. I am honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to know her, and I will never forget her kind words. Mrs. Moore was dedicated to her profession, and always wanted to make things better in the lives of others, particularly her students. Condolences are extended to the Family. We have lost a major icon in the political arena. She was on the front line displaying examples of courage and servant leadership. She was a very strong advocate for education, civic concerns, and was a well-served pacesetter for many years. We could always depend on her to fight for justice, equality and honesty. She was a warrior and pioneer of our era and understood the word LEADERSHIP. She believed that stewardship of the vote is everyone's responsibility. Mrs. Moore opened many doors for us all, and she had a signature style that made her stand out, as an awesome team connector. She was a blessing to our community, county, state, and our nation. She will be sincerely missed. We thank her for her great service.

Ms. Moore was a woman that inspired and helped many people. She was the type of guidance counselor every parent would want for their children. Mrs. Moore was the kindest woman. She took care of the community education needs, made sure my financial papers were completed and submitted on time. I had only to earn the grades to continue my studies and from her helped others to complete theirs. Love you and will miss that beautiful smile! ♡

While I did not personally know Ms. Moore, I knew her daughter, Michelle, well. Knowing Michelle, I can imagine what a wonderful Mother and person Ms. Moore was. I am deeply saddened by your Mother's passing and wish you all comfort and peace by holding close to the Lord and close to the fond memories you've made with your family.

Mrs. Moore so such a loving and sweet person. I truly enjoyed being in her presence. Michelle, Kenneth, and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she loved you all unconditionally and adored all of you. Mrs. Moore will be missed dearly. God has a beautiful soul in His heaven.

As a former student of hers at Cainhoy, I remember her as always driving us to do the best we could do. She had that same drive after leaving Cainhoy and fighting along with us as we were trying to keep our high school from closing. She was such as inspiration. She will truly be missed.

Mrs. Moore fought tirelessly for the students and people of Berkeley County.

Her legacy as a Civil Rights giant in Berkeley County will not be forgotten.

Mrs. Moore was to Berkeley County, what Septima Clark was to Charleston County.

She will live on, in the many hearts she has touched.

Ms. Moore was a true gem in our community, especially with the school children (Cross High). Thank you for your tireless efforts. Forever in our thoughts.

I have had the pleasure of loving on this sweet soul for the last 4 years. Her laughter was contagious and her presence lit up our entire community. She showed me just how strong the power of prayer is. Wilhelmina will always hold a special place in my heart! Missing You!

As a Berkeley School Board Trustee Ms. Moore was always passionate and fearless representing her constituents.

One of the greatest teachers that would go to bat for her ‘kids’. She was definitely a treasure in the education system. Prayers to her family!
