Walter Ronald "Ronnie" Rigsbee, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025. Born in Durham, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Walter Hubert Rigsbee and Dottie Thelma Sparrow. He proudly served in the United States Army before beginning a long and successful career in the electrical supply business, where he was admired for his integrity, humor, and strong work ethic.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye Elizabeth Teague; his son, Walter Ronald Rigsbee, Jr; his stepson, Henry Marion Driggers; and his grandson, Austin Moody. Their memories remain a cherished part of the family's story.
He is survived by his children: Rhonda Faye Rigsbee, Deborah Rigsbee Iredell (Tom), Charlye Rigsbee Gagnon (Richard), Melissa Rigsbee Howard (James), Ronald Dean Rigsbee, Walter Ronald Murphy (Cindy).
He was a proud grandfather to: Jeannie Champlin, Michelle Schmidt, Rhette Holmes, Ellie Iredell, Grace Moody, Ethan Gagnon, Walter Murphy Jr, Michael Howard, Austin Moody (deceased).
And a loving great-grandfather to: Sullivan Champlin, Chris Schmidt, Jack Schmidt, and Audrey Riley.
Ronnie's fatherly love and kindness created an extraordinary and unique example that made his children and family become better people. He always engaged you and strived to have meaningful interactions. His care for his wife Faye was selfless; he will never be forgotten.
Ronnie had a gift for storytelling, a charming wit, and a deep love for golf. Many of his happiest moments were spent on the course with friends, sharing jokes and enjoying life. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his enduring humor, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
A private family gathering will be determined at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
