Walter Myers Obituary

Walter David Myers, Sr. St. George, SC - Walter David Myers, Sr., 79, of St. George, husband of Mary Ann Craven Myers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Clay Shook and Reverend Mark Cooke officiating. Burial will follow in the Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George. Walter was born on July 21, 1939, a son of the late William Lewis Myers, Sr. and Agnes Amelia Atkins Myers. He attended Trident Technical College and was a Missile Handler and supervisor with Building 350 Polaris Missile Facility Atlantic (PomFlant). He served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion Post 105. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, former member of Limestone Baptist Church and served as a deacon at both churches. Walter was a board member with the SC Forestry Commission for 39 years. He was predeceased by a brother, William Lewis Myers, Jr. Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Craven Myers; a daughter, Lu (Charles) Huff, Bowman; two sons, Walter David (Margaret) Myers, Jr. and Phillip Andrew Myers, Sr., all of St. George; grandchildren, Anna Margaret Myers, David Eiden Myers, Chelsea Elizabeth Huff, Megan Christina Huff, Grayson James Myers, Phillip Andrew Myers, Jr.; brothers, Wayne Roger (Vernelle) Myers and Richard Alton (Lynn) Myers, all of St. George; sisters, Geneva M. Patrick, Summerville, Evelyn (Bennie) McAlhany, Branchville, Emily P. Watts, Summerville and Dixie M. Meyer, St. George. Heaven gained a wonderful new angel when the Lord took Mr. Walter home. My heart aches for all of his wonderful family and friends who loved him so dearly.
