Walter "Beau" Ryder Kern
Beaufort, SC - Walter "Beau" Ryder Kern, age 70 of Beaufort, SC and formerly of Mount Pleasant, SC passed away at home surrounded by family on February 18, 2026.
Born November 18, 1955 in Mineola, New York, he was the son of the late Julius George Kern, Jr. and the late Jaclyn Tappen Kern of Locust Valley, NY and Beaufort, SC.
"Beau" is survived by his wife, Leslie Kahler Kern and sons, Kyle Williamson of Charleston and Benjamin Tappen (Kim) of San Luis Obispo, CA. He was loved by his extended family, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Professionally, Beau supported the Lowcountry real estate market as a Home Inspector for 28 years. In addition he devoted his free time to spending time travelling with his family and was a Life Sponsor for his favorite charity, Ducks Unlimited.
A celebration of life will be held at his home, Heronwyck Plantation on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Friends of Caroline Hospice or Ducks Unlimited.
