Walter Heck, Jr. Summerville - Walter P. Heck, Jr., 90, of Summerville, SC, loving husband of Carol R. Pesta Heck, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Summerville Community Hospice House. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday morning, September 21, 2021 at 11 o'clock at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10 o'clock until the time of Mass. The Rite of Committal will be Friday, September 24, 2021 in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA at 10 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Walt's name may be made to Saint Clare of Assisi Building Fund, 225 Seven Farms Drive, Suite 100, Daniel Island, SC 29492. Walter was born January 10, 1931 in Conshohocken, PA, a son of the late Walter P. Heck and Florence May Richards Heck. He worked as an Accountant, and was a former member of Saint Gregory the Great Finance Council in Bluffton, SC. He enjoyed private plane flying, swimming, camping, and traveling. He liked sailing, archery, and playing tennis and golf. In addition to his wife, Carol Heck of Summerville, SC, Walter leaves behind his sons, Walter P. Heck III of West Lawn, PA, Francis X. Heck (Haydee) of Tampa, FL, Thomas C. Heck of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Gregory P. Heck of Little River, SC; daughters, Patricia M. Gates of Collegeville, PA, Cynthia J. Fulmer of Norristown, PA, and Elizabeth A. Sheldon (Scott) of Phoenixville, PA; sisters-in-law, Anna Heck of Lubbock, TX, Michele Pesta Masterfano of Honolulu, HI; nephews, Willard Heck of Causey, NM, and Bruce Heck (Nancy) of Knauertown, PA; eighteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Florence A. Fineran; brother, Willard Heck; grandson, Joseph P. Fineran III; and his first wife, Patricia M. Bale Heck.
