Walter Legrand Cumbee, Sr. MONCKS CORNER - Walter Legrand Cumbee Sr., 78, of Moncks Corner, SC, husband of Kitty Cumbee died Friday, September 5, 2014. His funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. Walter was born September 6, 1935 in Charleston, son of the late James Elmer Cumbee and the late Marie Gertrude Fort . Walter retired from Raybestos Manhattan where he worked as a machinist for 44 years. Walter's favorite past time was deer hunting and fishing. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He is loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kitty Cumbee, daughter, Deborah Jones (Mike); son, Walter Cumbee Jr.; sisters, Barbara Ensley, Dottie Lee (Jimmy); grandchildren, Kevin, Desiree, Justin, Jett, Matt, Phillip, Grande, Ashley and Lucus Cumbee; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
