Mary Dickinson Obituary
Mary Louise Merritt Dickinson, Sr. passed away on June 24, 2025. She was born in Perry County, MS, where she lived with her parents, Kin and Evelyn Merritt, and her siblings, Sybil Kleinke, David Merritt, Clista Heath, and Robert Merritt. In her junior and senior years of high school, she was the captain of her basketball team and the league champion of her bowling team from 1955 to 1957. Soon after, she met her husband, John Charles "Jack" Dickinson, and had 7 children. She became a realtor and sold many homes to families in the Jackson County area. She was the longest licensed carrying broker/Realtor in the state of MS when she retired. She was a cherished member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. She was also a member of the senior choir for over 50 years and a member of the St Vincent De Paul Society. She received the Lumen Christi award for Our Lady of Victories in 2016 and gave tirelessly to the needy in her community. Cooking and feeding her family and friends was one of her greatest pleasures, and she did that all the way to the end of her beautiful life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, and one son, Thomas Edward "Ted " Dickinson .
She was survived by her children: Michael Merritt Dickinson; Mary Louise Dickinson Jr; Jonathan Mark Dickinson; Jacqueline Elizabeth Dickinson McAdams; Roger Edmund Dickinson (Stephanie); Timothy Moran Dickinson. Her grandchildren are Dana Marie Wilson, Micah Gabriel Backer, John "Derek" McAdams, Aaron "Dustin "McAdams (Chelsea), Jessica Catherine McAdams Bowman (Wes), Allison Ann Dickinson, David Charles Dickinson (Megan), William John Dickinson, Kenneth Milburn Dickinson, and Nicholas Blair Dickinson. Great grandchildren Chase, Caden, and Colby Wilson; Isaac, Emily, Wyatt, Merritt, and Stella McAdams; Aaron Dustin "AJ" McAdams; Logan, Lachlan, and Mcallan Bowman; Robert, Daisy, and Lily Sanders; Madeline, John, and Charlie Dickinson.
