I'd known Wesley for a long time, dating back to fifth grade. From then all the way to high school, Wes was a guy going against the grain and carving out his own niche in this world. I always fashioned him as a Ben Franklin sort of dude. When you saw him, he'd rattle off some new thought that might never have crossed your mind before, but you definitely thought about it now that you had seen Wesley. You know, in high school, especially our year, it was so damn competitive; everyone chop blocking each other to be in that top 1% of the class. But Wesley was a guy that sought his own kind of genius beyond rankings or mere GPAs. The man had pure knowledge, and above that, he was one of the nicest people I have ever known, and when it comes to thinking about the people I've encountered in my life, he'll always stand out....

Sherre and family,
I just read about Wes this afternoon or I would have come. I am so very sorry - saddened beyond words for your loss. I know how much you and everyone loved him and, the greatest part of that is that Wes knew how much he was loved, too! To a great family he was given and to an even greater family has he been returned. May the Peace of Our God be with you all.
Love and prayers ~

Will, Sherre, and Britteny:
I am so sorry for your loss. I don't even have the words to express the sorrow. I am in Denver Co with my mom visiting my brother or I would be there. However, you are all in my prayers.

I only heard Wesley once, years ago at a Wando concert in St. Andrews church, but his singing was exceptional and I sensed the same about him as a person. God be with you.

I am deeply saddened by Wesley's death. He was always so interesting, looking for answers to life's mysteries. And, so kind! What a gentle soul he was. I truly enjoyed every flute lesson I gave to him as he was so interested in music - not only the traditional flute, but the Indian flute (and definitely the guitar). His passing is a loss to humanity but his life was a gift to us all. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and his music is in my heart, where it will reside forever.
